During a recent trip to Riviera, MX, I had the opportunity to experience something truly amazing...a sneak peak at the first ever overwater bungalows in Mexico.
I was able to tour the entire facility under construction, see a fully completed room, and sit down with the owner of the resort to discuss his vision for the future of the Palafitos.
The Palafitos Overwater Bungalows are located at the El Dorado Maroma Spa Resorts about 25 minutes south of the Cancun airport. Maroma Beach has always been one of very my favorites. The Travel Channel seems to agree as it voted Maroma as of the Top 10 beaches in the world.
In Phase 1, they are building 30 bungalows, as well as, an exclusive restaurant and spa for Palafitos guests.

The rooms are beautiful to say the least. In addition to the amazing oceanfront views, they all feature:

- Glass bottom floors

- Direct ladder to ocean
- The very romantic outdoor shower
- Indoor Jacuzzi for two

Over the years, I have visited and/or stayed at many of the Karisma Resorts. Some the names you might recognize are El Dorado Royale, Azul Sensatori, and Generations Riviera Maya.
