When we ask our clients to name a place that they have never been, but would definitely like to go, they very often mention Costa Rica. It just seems to be one of those ‘bucket list’ kind of places.

During my last visit there, we flew into San Jose and then worked our way down to Guanacaste which is where you’ll find the best beach resorts. Along the way, we took in many of the amazing natural wonders (which I will touch on later), the beautiful landscape and the Café Britt coffee plantation. The friendly people here produce coffee against which all other coffee should be judged. (I have been ordering this online ever since!)

One of the main reasons for the trip is to experience the all-inclusive Dreams Las Mareas Resort. We have a large destination wedding group booked here and we, of course, needed to check it out.                                           That is part of our job after all!

We are big fans of the Dreams Resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean. Over the years, we have sent many families here, as well as, more than a few Destination Weddings. We have found the accommodations to be excellent and the prices very reasonable.

I personally like the restaurant choices, food quality, the fact that no reservations and NO WRISTBANDS are required! I also like the consistency of knowing that each Dreams Resort has the same restaurant offerings with Seafood, Italian, Asian, etc.

We also always recommend that our clients consider the Preferred Club room categories. For a relatively small upcharge, Preferred Club guests get access to better room locations, exclusive access to certain restaurants, and many other VIP services and amenities.

Located on the beautiful El Jobo Beach on the northern coast of Guanacaste, the new Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica is about 45 miles from the Liberia Airport. We book this resort with Apple Vacations and we always include a non-stop transfer in the package price.
Dreams Las Mareas will offer a contemporary design with what they refer to as the Unlimited-Luxury® experience. With this, everything is included…gourmet dining options, top-shelf spirits, 24-hour room and concierge services.

Dreams Las Mareas will have 447 guest suites (including the only Swim-out style rooms in the area) with views of the beautiful ocean, jungle or mountains. During the day, you can enjoy the pools which are very large at over 44,000 square feet. Guests can also snorkel, play volleyball of the beach, or just chill out on the white sand beach.

Another very important feature we love about Dreams is the The Explorer’s Club for kids and Core Zone Teen’s Club. Here the kids have a place to go to do the things they like and stay entertained. This means happy kids and quality alone time for the adults.

One other very important feature that you need to be aware at Dreams is called Unlimited Connectivity. This is a complimentary mobile app that allows guests to stay connected to the people they are with on the trip, as well as with friends and family back home. Utilizing the app-to-app call feature, guests can also make local and international calls using the resort’s Wi-Fi connection without incurring any cell phone roaming charges. Be sure to download this app before you go as this is very convenient and will save you money on phone and data charges!

Earlier, I mentioned the amazing excursions you will find in Costa Rica. I have been to many destinations over the years and can truly say the experiences you will have in Costa Rica are unbelievable. This is where the Canopy Tour (a.k.a zipline) was invented…you HAVE to do this! It is an exhilarating experience you will never forget!
Here are a few more must dos:
  • Sky Tours Arenal Volcano & Hot Springs Tour
You’ll get to visit the observation deck at the highest point of the Arenal Reserve, giving you beautiful views of the rainforest, volcano and lake on this full-day tour. You can also enjoy a sky tram ride in a gondola, jungle zip-lining activities, a boat ride and a visit to the hot springs.

  • Treasures of Monteverde Tour
Discover the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve with over 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds and 2,500 species of plants on this full-day tour. You’ll get to go on a sky tram through the forest, a hiking tour with suspension bridges, a coffee plantation and chocolate tour.

  • Aerial Canyoning & Hot Springs at Rio Perdido Tour
Enjoy a day full of tubing, aerial canyoning, slides and swings into the river, hiking, and a visit to the hot springs.

  • White Water Rafting Tour
Get your adrenaline pumping with a three-hour river ride on a river with strong currents and amazing views on this full day tour. Also includes round-trip transportation, bilingual guide and lunch.
  • Arenal Volcano Rainforest Walk & Hot Springs Tour
This relaxing full-day tour gives is your opportunity to cross the Arenal Lake in a motor-boat, walk through the rainforest near the Arenal volcano, and visit the hot springs and gardens.

So if you have been to Cancun, Jamaica, Punta Cana etc. and are looking for a new destination, Costa Rica and the new Dreams Las Mareas could be just the spot. We invite you to give us a call with any questions you might have or to get starting researching, planning and booking your dream trip to Costa Rica.
